Today’s sentence Hi. How are you? Here’s the latest in the series on film genres. There’s a documentary on World War Two tonight. Notes A documentary is a film which tells a true story and which doesn’t have actors. Usually they are serious films which are intended to educate the audience. They usually use real film of events which really happened. Typically there is a narrator who speaks throughout the film to explain what happened. Documentaries are often about politics or history, for example. I hope that was useful. We’ll continue with this theme tomorrow. See you! Today’s sentence Hello again. We’re still studying words which have the same spelling but different pronunciations and meanings. I’ve started buying records again. Notes Well, this is something I started doing again about 3 years ago. Buying vinyl. Old-fashioned records. I think vinyl records sound much better than CDs. But that’s just me. And about a million other people. Anyway: back to the point. Record, today anyway, is a noun. Pronunciation? Record. Listen again! If it were a verb, how do you think it might be pronounced?
